The 2019 Summit will host multiple networking opportunities. Be sure to check this page often as events will be added as we get closer to the conference.

Leadership Program
Sunday, 5 May
8:00 AM – Noon

This event is for anyone currently in a leadership position in an STC chapter or special interest group (SIG), or if you want to be more involved in the leadership of your chapter or SIG. At the Leadership Program, you’ll be able to talk with your counterparts about what they do, meet the award-winning communities’ leadership, and get details about the successes they’ve had.

Welcome Reception & Opening General Session
Sunday, 5 May
5:00-6:30 PM

There will be a reception in the exhibit hall. The reception will include light snacks and soft drinks, and cash bars will be available to purchase other beverages. This energetic event kicks off  your Summit experience and offers a chance to talk with exhibitors, catch up with friends, and discover like-minded colleagues at the Communities/SIG tables. This event is included with your registration fee.

Carla is a popular speaker, author, storyteller, and Chief Experience Officer for Type A Communications. Her keynote address, “Perpetual Innovation,” will talk about how the world’s most innovative teams create great ideas to deliver exponential outcomes. Don’t miss her talk during the Opening General Session on Sunday evening, 5 May, at 5:00 PM.

Annual Business Meeting
Monday, 6 May
5:30 – 6:30 PM

STC’s Annual Business Meeting will be held on Tuesday, 22 May, at 5:30 PM. Plan to attend to congratulate STC’s 2018-2019 Board of Directors and incoming STC President Jane Wilson. Click here to view the rules for the meeting.

Honors Event
Tuesday, 7 May
5:30-7:00 PM

The Honors Event is the last event of the Summit and will be held Tuesday, 7 May, at 5:30 PM. We’ll celebrate STC’s individual award winners, as well as the Most Improved Community and Community of the Year recipients.

Closing Keynote
Wednesday, 8 May
11:00 AM-12:15 PM

Some of STC’s SIGs have scheduled meetings during the Summit. Check the full schedule for a complete list of SIG meetings with the dates, times, and locations. For additional details about a meeting, contact the SIG manager. If you don’t see a specific SIG listed, they may be having their meeting off site.

During the conference, that hashtag will be in use by attendees, so feel free to jump in or simply follow from afar for a taste of the Summit! There will be a widget available during the Summit that will collect all tweets and display them together.
