Summit Welcome Reception

Welcome Reception

Immediately following the Opening General Session there will be a reception in the exhibit hall. The reception will include light snack foods and soft drinks. Beer and wine will be available on a cash basis. This is a fun event where you can talk with exhibitors and catch up with friends. This event is included with your conference registration fee.

Communities Reception

After the sessions end on Monday, get ready for the Communities Reception. This reception takes place immediately after the Annual Business Meeting. Members of local STC communities will greet you and representatives from the SIGs will be there to tell you about their activities. There will be light refreshments served. This reception is included with your registration fee.

Music Jam

Thanks to the Music Jam sponsors!

Immediately following the Communities Reception on Monday, head next door for the Music Jam for music, dancing, and fun, as STC’s own Rough Drafts returns! Founding members Tommy Barker (lead guitar & vocals) and Rich Maggiani (drums) anchor the music scene, with new band members Viqui Dill, Carolyn Klinger, Robert Hershenow, and others. As with past shows, there will be an ever-flowing group of musicians entertaining you with rock, pop, rockabilly, and of course, the blues! Musicians, bring an instrument to join in (email Rich Maggiani for the set list). Everyone else, spend the evening hobnobbing with your STC friends and dancing your heads off all evening long!

Honors Banquet

On Tuesday, 22 May, the Honors Banquet will be held to honor the Society’s newly elected Fellows and Associate Fellows. This event is a wonderful celebration of your peers’ accomplishments.

STC's Honors Banquet

This event is not included with your registration fee, and tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets are $80 each. You will be able to purchase your tickets and make your meal selection for this event when you register for the Summit.

We accommodate a certain level of dietary restrictions in that gravies, sauces, and salad dressings are served on the side. We do not order fried or breaded items. We are unable to accommodate more specific dietary requirements. Vegetarian and kosher meals are available but must be ordered in advance. Fresh fruit is available on request to substitute for the dessert.

On site at the conference you will need to select a table where you want to sit during the banquet. Full tables for eight people may be reserved provided all eight banquet vouchers are presented at the time you make your table selection. Table selection must be made by 5:00 PM on Monday, 21 May. As soon as you arrive at the conference is not too soon to start organizing your banquet table party!

Closing Lunch

This casual buffet lunch is one last opportunity to talk with old and new friends when the sessions end on Wednesday. Special-order meals (vegetarian and kosher) are not available for this meal. The cost for this event is $10.00 for conference participants. Additional tickets are $35.00. You must purchase tickets by Noon on Tuesday, 22 May, for this event.
